Meet Damilola Ojo!
Today we spotlight Damilola Ojo, highschool student at St. Mary's High School and creator of @melan.unify
@dami.ojo impressed us from day one, as a student who worked from the ground up in order to create and celebrate the first ever Black History Month at St. Mary's Academy (@smawinnipeg) in their 151 year history. Her work paid off, and was honoured by @mayorbrianbowman with a leadership award. This year Dami also created an organization called Melan Unify, that she poured her heart into. The goal is to host workshops, both one-on-one and collective to help students accomplish their own dreams.
Her teacher describes Dami as one of those students that doesn't come around very often, and reminds you why you teach. She has drive, passion and contagious energy and uses her voice to support causes and spread knowledge.
Thank you Dami for inspiring us to #bhistory. We are certain this will not be the last time everyone hears your name.
